My Basement Do Over

Hi All, Happy Wednesday! I was perusing Urban Outfitters website for some clothes for my teenage daughter when I ran into their furniture. Wow! It is inexpensive yet very stylish...and being the wish monger that I am, I put together a wish list of furniture pieces I would love to have in my basement.
My basement is a dark hole that I try never to venture into if I don't have to. I haven't bought new furniture down there since 1999..wow that sounds like ages ago.
So here is my wish list for Urban Outfitters Basement Re-Do. I know what you're thinking she's a little retro with industrial thrown in..I like an eclectic look. And since I love love books--they always (according to me) have to be in a room or it just doesn't feel right. What do you think of my new basement look? Yay or Nay?

Hydrangeas are fab!!

Well, its been over a year since my last post. My Tolix chairs are still wonderful in their naked state. So much better than the Tiffany Blue...I guess I can only handle color for so long, then I need to revert back to no color things.
I took a photo of my gorgeous hydrangeas in my backyard. I am drying them and have them all over my house...this color I can live with and have lived with for years. They're a purpley-blue color that I just love and never tire of..only in small doses though. Are you look like that? Or is it just me? Can you handle a lot of color in your home all the time?

My Finished Tolix Chairs Do Over

My Tolix Chairs Do Over

Helllooo Lovers,
Welcome to my first blog post. I am new to this whole blogging thing so hopefully I won't screw it up! Please bear with me. If you are anything like me, I am always "working" on a project in my home. Whether it be, painting furniture or moving furniture etcc..so I thought I would start my new blog off with my latest project...My Tolix Chairs for my Kitchen.

As you will learn about me, I am a very white and beige type person. Nearly everything in my home is white or beige--including walls. In my Family Room, for instance, I have a beige linen slipcovered Mitchell Gold Couch and 2 Mitchell Gold white denim slipcovered chairs. My lamps are beige, my bedroom has a white chaise in it to go along with my white bed! All the walls in my home are off-white. I think you get the picture.

Anyway, back to my Tolix chairs. When I ordered them, the girl told me about a new color they just introduced "Tiffany Blue". Oh My, I thought. Tiffany Blue! I have to have them. --they would add just the right amount of color to my home. I have an open floor plan, so my Kitchen is open to my Family Room. I thought these would be a perfect addition to my French 1800's farmhouse table...and they were...for a little while.

Until I got sick of the color, like I always do. And that brings me to my current project. I stripped all the Tiffany Blue off them to reveal the steel underneath...and ..drumroll...I love them!!!!!  I love a little industrial look mixed with the farm, cottage style look, how 'bout you?  Are you a fan of Tolix chairs? Do you like an industrial look too? Let me know your thoughts..
Thanks for letting me share,

M
